Blue Ash Powers Up For Food
Festival
QUAZITE® boxes and covers were
an integral part of the sidewalk renovation for Blue Ash,
Ohio's annual food festival. Thousands of people attend
the Taste of Blue Ash, an annual food festival that promotes
a strong financial business climate for the city and surrounding
communities. More than 30 local food purveyors set up shop
on the sidewalks of Blue Ash.
In order to supply each booth with
power for this event and eliminate the trip hazard created
with extension cords running to each food booth, frequent
electrical service boxes were needed in the sidewalks.
The city engineer worked with Quazite representative, Madden
Sales, to specify the QUAZITE® 12" x 12" utility boxes and covers to be
placed in the renovated sidewalks. Approximately 30 QUAZITE® boxes
were used on both sides of Kenwood Road, the main thoroughfare
used for the food festival, and in the city's memorial area.
Special pigments added to the polymer concrete during production
provided a box in a color to match the brick sidewalks.
Besides being aesthetically pleasing,
the skid resistant covers make the sidewalks safer for
the event. The QUAZITE® boxes and covers are extremely
strong, impact resistant and require no grounding. They
are expected to provide years of trouble free service for
Blue Ash.
